Huffworks Social Media Manager ("the app") is a private, self-hosted analytics dashboard for YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. It is operated by its owner for their household and invited collaborators. This policy explains what the app reads from your accounts, what it does with that information, and how to have it deleted.

What the app accesses

The app only reads data, and only from accounts you connect yourself by signing in with the platform and approving access. It never posts, comments, or changes anything on your accounts.

• YouTube (through YouTube API Services, scopes youtube.readonly and yt-analytics.readonly): your channel's name, image and statistics; your videos' titles, thumbnails and statistics; YouTube Analytics reports such as views, watch time, average view duration, audience retention and subscribers gained; and comments on your videos.
• Instagram (professional accounts only, permissions instagram_business_basic, instagram_business_manage_insights and instagram_business_manage_comments): your profile name and image, your posts and Reels with their insights (such as views, reach, likes, comments, shares, saves and watch time), account insights including follower demographics, and comments on your posts.
• TikTok (scopes user.info.basic, user.info.profile, user.info.stats and video.list): your display name, username and profile image, follower and like counts, and your public videos with their view, like, comment and share counts.

When you use the app itself, it stores your email address, a password hash, and a session cookie that keeps you signed in. It uses no advertising or analytics trackers.

How the information is used

• To show you, and the members of a workspace you choose to share, the analytics of the accounts connected to that workspace.
• If a workspace owner sets it up, to make that workspace's analytics available to the owner's own tools through a private, read-only API key.

The information is not sold, not shared with third parties, not used for advertising, and not used to train AI or machine-learning models.

Google user data

Huffworks Social Media Manager's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

This app uses YouTube API Services. By connecting a YouTube channel you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

Storage and security

Data is stored on a server operated by the app's owner in the United States. Connections use HTTPS. The access tokens platforms issue to the app are encrypted at rest and are never shown to users or written to logs.

Retention and deletion

• Data from an account is kept while the account stays connected, so that the app can show trends over time.
• YouTube data is refreshed or deleted at least every 30 days, and the app re-checks every 30 days that it still has your permission.
• When you disconnect an account in the app, or revoke the app's access on the platform, the app deletes that account's data within 7 days.
• To have all of your data deleted, use "Delete my data" in the app or email ghuff@hnpgeek.com. It will be deleted within 7 days.

• TikTok: Settings and privacy → Security → Apps and services permissions

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
